At the end of August, the Niagara School for Missional Leadership (NSML) entered into a new partnership agreement with Huron University’s Licentiate in Theology Program (LTh), one that will expand and diversify the educational opportunities available for students in Niagara.
“I am so excited for the learning opportunities created through this new partnership,” said Bishop Susan Bell. “It will be a real benefit to those seeking to learn more about our faith and what missional leadership is all about.”
Over the last three years, the NSML has lived into its mission to effectively train leaders to respond to the needs of God’s world by being a Gospel-focused learning community. Our mission aligns well with Huron University College’s mission to engage the world and create “Leaders with Heart”. Not only are our missions aligned, but also our methods. The LTh Program and NSML both prioritize leaders from many different parish contexts by developing missional courses that encourage contextual reflection and practice.
This partnership allows students from Huron to take NSML courses for credit towards the LTh diploma and potentially transfer credits to a Master of Divinity or Theology program. Students from the Niagara School for Missional Leadership now have the option to expand their learning by exploring the LTh course calendar.
We are proud to celebrate this moment with Huron as we work together to build up God’s Church for tomorrow, by faithfully providing a variety of courses, expert subject teachers, and a loving community that welcomes all. We ask for your prayers and support as we continue to expand our offerings as we listen to the needs of students, and where God is calling us to grow.
If you’re interested in life-long learning, a deeper understanding of missional leadership, listening, and watching for where the Kingdom of God is at work in the world, then please consider signing up for a course today! Courses are open to all: lay leaders, deacons, clergy, ministry leaders, students, and church volunteers alike!
