Bishop Terry Brown, retired bishop of Malaita, died over the Easter weekend.
Ordained in 1974 in the Diocese of Fredericton, he served a number of ministries, including as a divinity tutor and instructor at Trinity College and Asia/Pacific mission coordinator for the Anglican Church of Canada, before being elected to serve as the fourth Bishop of Malaita in the Anglican Church of Melanesia. He served in this role from 1996 through 2008 when he retired back to Hamilton. In retirement, he served as associate priest of All Saints, Hamilton, as bishop-rector of The Church of the Ascension, Hamilton, and more recently as an honorary assistant of Christ’s Church Cathedral.
Bishop Terry faithfully served the Diocese of Niagara, the Anglican Church of Canada, and the wider Anglican Communion throughout his five decades of ordained ministry.

A service to celebrate his life will be held on Friday, May 3 at 1:00 p.m. at Christ’s Church Cathedral in Hamilton, with visitation beginning at Noon.
